[Caracci Colony War]10/21/07

 

Last War Republicans ended up the 6th Royalist Domination on our Dear World Map, Some people said that this move will just make the royalist alliance to be aware so that the accident wont happen again in the next colony war. Other people speculates that the losses will be recovered in the next colony war and some announced that its the start of the crusade of the Republicans againts the opposition.

Hello Pioneers and Hello World.

We are now on the 8th week of the Official Colony War and we will notice a major change in our world map. In terms of Faction who owns the Colony. Even before the start of the Colony Wars we will see some movements courtesy of the Royalist Alliance. This battle on this edition of the war was early since the one who initiates the first move are not the one who usually starts it.

Notes:

This might be the first colony war where all the minutes in the 2 hours matters.

Im not really sure if Highlanders is a Royalist Faction considering that GodLike voluntarily gave some of their colonies to them might as well consider them as a part of the Royalist.

ScarletRose Faaction managed to reclaimed their Deserted Quay Colony from barkadahan Faction on the Last Five Minutes of the War.

The Major Changes on the World Map happened at the Last 10minutes of the war.

Thrash talk have been a part of the colony war since time immemorial. Most notable thrash talking for this week colony wars goes to LadyWhisper from ForgottenRealms Faction a small faction that joined the war a while ago. He broadcasted some flames for the GodLike faction specially to their faction leader but it causes that the flame he starts Backfired at him and yes LadyWhisper is a He

Destiny Faction occupied the Bonavista River Colony accidentaly.

Some faction believes that the last 10minutes attack is still effective and in my opinion it is still effective.. Even the Last 1 minute matters. just take a look at this screenshot

All in all its been a good war for the both parties. Still the Royalist got the upperhand on the World Map losing only 1 from last week 19.

The Art of AFK alone while training…

AFK alone an art???..Whats so artistic about it??. When you AFK alone you consider so many factors in order for it to be effective and work for your own advantage. Others thinks that ok i’ll AFK i’ll just leave my characters here and by few hours the experience gains a lot. That seems to be NOT happening effectively to most AFKers specially those that dont consider some of these factors..

1.Level of mobs – It’s very difficult to stay alive AFK in mobs with same level of your characters specially mobs with higher level than your character but playing it too safe or placing your characters in way low level mobs makes you survive easier but the drawback is less experience gain or no gain at all.You have to balance it well.

2.Armors – In my experience your armor should at least be the same level the mob around you if possible higher the better. Not necessarily +20 def but atleast +8def up. Just make sure your characters can handle attacks so that your scout can heal each of one on time.

3.Weapons and firepower – Even if u have elite armors of +6 with +20 def but ur attack so weak that it takes you 20 hits to kill 1 monster then u will have a problem specially when your inside dungeons with that boxes and barrels containing a platoon of mobs. You should at least kill each monster with 1 to 2 hits and the most is 3 hits if not then you wont survive. My Lorch at level 82 cannot kill mob in 2 hits but after obtaining a weapon with +98% attack to undead he became untouchable in that specific area only ^^. Remember the longer it takes for you to kill the higher is the chance you will be knocked down thus oftentimes cancelling your auto attack or autoheal for your scout; and if one of your character stops attacking then in a matter of minutes you will be deadmeat.And remember DONT FORGET TO BUY Ammo!! Bullets/Buckshots…

4.Type of weapon – The best weapon for AFKing are ranged weapon to keep your characters in its place as much as possible (most of the time but not guaranteed), using melee weapons while afk is a nono. Ohh there is the control H function (Hold).. not much of good either because of its disadvantages, Your character in Hold position doesnt guarantee it wont move, characters in Hold position tends to run after monster which runs away when almost dead ending up luring your character away from the party or taking with him the scout leaving the 3rd member alone without healer. Character in Hold position also cannot detect monster spawning near him even if its already attacking the character.

5.Location – If you manage to find a spot outside dungeons with manageable mobs to prevent encounters with boxes and barrels then your lucky. But there are also minibosses outside dungeons like that in Old Port (Giant Skeleton without level). Also dont AFK in places where many characters passes by because passerby always bring with them so many mobs either left in ur spot or your characters might run after also. I manage to find spots for my characters AFKing area with different levels, i have a spot in Tetra Ruins, Porto Bello, PortoBello Deck/Cabin/Hold,El Lago de Tres Hemanas, Rion, Old Port. I have others afking area but not as effective with those i mentioned. Also beware of area with bots, id rather let the items vanished unpicked rather than picked up by those freakin BOTS.

 

6.Formation – You cannot just place your characters in area randomly, you should arrange them in a way that enables them to be healed easily. Your character with highest def should be in front line (this is not new tip i know). My team of scout,lorch and rescue knight formation is a straight line formation. My scout is in mid of them Lorch at the back and RK in front. RK have blocking capability and higher def so even 3-5 enemy in font of him is easily handled while being healed by scout, while the mobs concentrates in attacking RK the scouts heals and Lorch bombards them with shotgun buckshots which is splash damage hitting all those in line of fire with 1 to 2 hits.

There are some uncontrolled factors that AFKers will encounter but cannot do something about like, unscheduled server reset, a boss or captain will appear and attack your team, a treasure mob lures your character (this is annoying), other player will summon a high level monster in your area (which i sometimes do  haha sorry can’t help it sometimes), some player will debuffs you (you dont have buffs coz ur afk but ur scouts SP will become 0 thus stop healing thus killing the team).

The best way to test if ur AFKin is effective is only thru trial and error, find a spot, make a formation and check if your team can handle without any buffs or any intervention at all, wait until your team opened a box or barrel and see if they can easily handle it or die instantaniously upon opening it. If you cant survive adjust something either, location, formation, level of mobs, weapons.. try and try until u survive… You will see how you will smile widely when you wake up and your character still alive gains a lot of experience or level (but no items hehe), then you can say you did it!!

There are still many factors to consider that i was not able to tackle here.

Now is AFKing still easy? I dont think so..
To those who hates AFKers chill out.. It’s better to AFK than to BOT!!

Atleast only 10 to 15% of my experience is gained thru AFK the 85% i played fair and square. I still play a lot and when i AFK i make it a point it will survive as much as possible to gain extra experience while sleeping.
